Sharks incoming!

Sharks incoming!

We are proud to announce our next avatar release – and our first major collaboration project – with the all new shark avatar!
Designed by the talented Mindmachine, these avatars also feature some exciting new features. For the first time ever, we used 30-second long facial animations rather than just fixed facial poses, allowing for more, subtle expression changes, and helping to really bring these avatars to life.

Examples can be seen here and here.

We also set this avatar up to be simple to use on virtually any omega compatible mesh body, so whether you want to use our own brand or use a Maitreya, Belleza, or other third party body, the main requirement is that they support the Omega Applier system in order to receive the textures. The head is compatible with the standard SL neck, which means it should seamlessly fit all major brands. Essentially, if it can fit a human mesh head, it will work with the shark as well!

Also included are bento animated tails in three sizes, with new, smooth and fluid animations. Each pose offers one static, as well as three animated sways of varying speeds. Lastly, we created all new eyes for this avatar, which you’ll start seeing in our future projects as well, and which look so much more lively and awesome than our previous renditions.

And for those who like it wet, we are including a special water droplet effect in the box as well, letting your shark look like a proper marine animal, dripping wet and gleaming. You can see this effect in use on the male shark in the preview pics!

As one final treat, the amazing person behind )Umbra( is going to be creating a set of special skins for this shark, which will most likely be ready for the release weekend! Stay tuned for another post on this blog with some pics!

As for the where and when we will be celebrating the release of this new avatar, mark down the following dates and locations, and come join us!

  • August 10th, Noon SL time – Knotty Beach
  • August 11th, 2pm SL time – GYC
